Fixed Blade Knives Under $20: Ka-Bar®

Ka-Bar Fighting Knives are an American legend, and have been used by US forces in every conflict from WWII onward. They've proven their battle readiness and are as solid as the country they have defended.

Each knife undergoes specific manufacturing processes to ensure corrosion resistance, strength, edge holding ability,
and an out-of-the-box razor sharp edge. The KA-BAR  blades feature a moderate carbon and low chromium steel mixture that allows the blade to hold an edge exceptionally well.

There have been many versions of how the KA-BAR name came to be, but all the evidence points to a letter received from a fur trapper somewhere in the early 1920’s. The  trapper’s story became the most important one ever received by the KA-BAR company.
The legendary KA-BAR went on to see service in WWII, Korea, VietNam, and Iraq. The KA BAR knife was originally conceived as a hunting knife in 1898, but in 1942, not long after the United States got into WW II, American troops ran into problems with the knife they were issued, the M1917 and M1918, and KA-BAR knives were chosen from a hunting catalog. The final shape of the knife was decided on by the Marine Corps.

The KA-BAR knife is a perfect survival tool, and it serves its utility well. Each knife is perfectly balanced, and ground to a surgical edge, with a stacked-leather or glass-filled nylon handle that insures a solid grip every time..

KA-BAR knives have been serving hunters, outdoorsmen, and military personnel for over 100 years. KA-BAR is an American  legend.
